Historical Biography
During the turbulent Later Three Kingdoms period (Late Silla to Early Goryeo), Kim Seon-pyeong held administrative command of the strategic fortress of Gochang (modern-day Andong). In 930 CE, at the decisive **Battle of Gochang**, Kim Seon-pyeong, together with local commanders Gwon Haeng and Jang Jeong-pil, joined forces with King Taejo (Wang Geon) to inflict a crushing defeat upon Gyeon Hwon of Later Baekje.
In recognition of this pivotal triumph that secured Goryeo's unification of the Korean peninsula, King Taejo elevated Gochang to the status of **Andong-bu** ('Pacified East') and bestowed upon Kim Seon-pyeong the supreme honorary rank of **Samdaegwang Taesa (Three Grand Chancellors)**. He is enshrined at the historic **Taesamyo (태사묘)** in Andong.
